NVQ Level 2: Operational Services for Park Staff

This NVQ is aimed at the practical ‘doer’ on the park. It covers a very wide range of tasks, and allows a broad choice of units because every park is different.

All candidates have to take the three compulsory units on

• Promoting safety
• Customer Service
• Working in a team

Then they can choose any four from the units on

• Siting caravans
• Preparing hard standings and paths
• Grounds maintenance
• Security on the park
• Electrical and plumbing repairs
• Machinery and power tools
• Keeping the park clean and tidy
• Glazing and carpentry repairs
• Maintaining swimming pool plant
• Conserving the Park Environment - (taught workshop available)

This NVQ is usually completed over a number of months, with the assessor will visiting the parkon a regular basis to carry out all of the assessments.

It may also be possible to include the Siting qualification within the NVQ where this is appropraite to the candidate

Train to Gain Funding

Government funding may be available for this NVQ where candidates have not previously ahcieved a qualification at this level. Funding contracts are already in place in parts of England. Contact Caravan Industry Training to register your interest and check whether a candidate may be eligible.
