Operational Services On Touring, Holiday & Home Parks
This publication has been developed for the benefit of everyone working on touring, holiday and home parks. It takes the tasks that happen on most parks, and sets out to explain how they can be done safely, effectively and efficiently. This is not a book for academics, it is a book for practical people, and is divided into chapters on 13 separate topics, all written in plain English. Each chapter contains essential information, activities and self test exercises to encourage the reader to absorb as much as possible, whatever their ability and learning style.
The thirteen chapters are:
- Creating a positive impression
- Promoting health and safety
- Working as part of a successful team
- Providing a clean and tidy park environment
- Using and maintaining tools, equipment and machinery
- Preparing hard standing and paths
- Siting caravans
- Maintaining your park grounds
- Undertaking electrical and plumbing repairs
- Undertaking glazing and carpentry repairs
- Maintaining site security
- Operating swimming pool plant
- Conserving the park environment
A complete content listing of the above chapters is available to view in the Download section at the bottom of this page
Some of the chapters will be appropriate for every park worker, others are more specialist. Each chapter relates to a unit in the NVQ Operational Services. The book also gives a short explanation of what NVQs are and how they are achieved, but like its predecessor Park Operations this book will have a far wider use than just for NVQ candidates - read it, learn from it, make notes in it, talk about it - but above all, just use it, you and your staff will find it well worthwhile |
