Commendations for Safe Siting Parks
At a Lincolnshire Branch meeting on March 11th commendation certificates were presented by BH&HPA National Chairman Mike McCann to two parks in recognition of their notable safety achievements after participation in the BTEC Intermediate Award for Siting Caravans.
Lucy Newbold was presented with the award for North Shore Holiday Park. After putting 8 people on the course, they followed it up with a winching course. They then reviewed their siting tools and equipment, and made changes to these and to procedures in order to make their siting operations safer. They were congratulated on putting the health & safety of staff, and of all other people on the park, first at all times.
Sue and Ian Thomson accepted their award on behalf of Whitby Holiday Park, part of Normanhurst Enterprises. Lessons learnt on the course had clearly been understood and applied – an NVQ assessor visiting months later was greatly impressed by the clear, straightforward but informative paperwork that the team had designed themselves, by the faultless record keeping of every siting operation and by the co-ordination and teamwork on practical operations that made a difficult job (on a difficult park) controlled and efficient.
Trainers Vanessa Marshall and Hayley Thompson had assessed North Shore and Whitby respectively, and were delighted to be present to add their congratulations.
